Of the nearly 7 million people in Guatemala, 2 million are under the age of 5.
Life is tough for these little ones who live in the nation ranking sixth in the world for highest chronic malnutrition.* In some regions of Guatemala the percentage of kids with stunted growth from malnutrition reaches nearly 70%. That’s why ASELSI has a clinic up in the mountains with a milk program--to help these kids get a leap on life and have the nutrition they so desperately need. The Answer to Hungry Little Ones
Since 2000, ASELSI has been training leaders and serving the poor. Since that first little baby arrived at the door of missionaries John and Sharon Harvey, ASELSI has been finding ways to feed babies and train mothers how to care for these hungry little ones. The number of babies who are alive and well because of the ASELSI Milk Program, number over a thousand. Your gift helps make possible this outreach for some of the most needy children in Guatemala.
