Update From the Field

Letter From John Harvey - July 5, 2007:

Every successful missionary knows that it is imperative to stay in touch at least four times a year with a newsletter. Hmmmm. We are just now sending our first newsletter. Forgive us! Just this past week we have had several amazing things happen.

1. In Ecuador, we had two conferences, one in Quito, the capital, and the other in Coca Oriente, in the "mouth of the Amazon jungle". In both places we were pleased to find leadership from many sectors of the country. We found a hunger for the presence of God there. We also found an interest in training in the Word of God. I learned so much about the Quichua culture and their needs to study. I had a long meeting with the leadership of the Association of Evangelical Quichua Pastors. They dared their desire to have a Quichua Bible Institute that met their particular needs. This was my fourth trip and finally, I started to find keys to break open the barriers that hinder the Indians from studies. Prayer and passion open doors!

2. I just received notice that we have 45 students, Chiapas, southern Mexico! Mike McComb, has taken the new position of International Director of our Extension Centers. In only a few months he has restructured our program and is raising up new leadership. Daniel Luis, the director over Mexico has a vision to see the church catch fire!

3. As a side note, a friend of mine, Harold Caballero is running for President of Guatemala and his party is in jeopardy of losing their political status. Harold had done a wonderful job over the years in breaking bondages of poverty and violence. He has inspired the nation to have confidence in our Lord. Now he want to make another kind of change. I want you to join me in prayer that he gets that opportunity. Guatemala has thirteen million people. We also have one of the greatest revivals to ever hit a country. We believe God is raising up a standard here to ignite the central and south American countries. Could Harold be a part of His plan?

4. The physical therapy clinic has seen several children who had no hope of walking now able to walk with a walker. The mothers are thrilled!
Well, that's some updates to say that we are alive and well in Guatemala and that your prayers are effective and vital to this ministry.
Be Blessed!
