***Here is a testimony written by our regional coordinator Mike McComb on the 27th of September, 2007, regarding our new extension in Margaritas, Chiapas, Mexico***

I taught in the first meeting we had, and met German Jimenez, one of the 19 students that came to the first class.  He is the pastor of the Renovacion en Cristo church in Chiapas.  He invited me to eat breakfast in his home where he took me into his office and showed me dozens of pictures of burned down church buildings and wounded people.  He said that the churches were from his denomination and had been burned down in the 1990's by radical Catholic groups who were out to clear out their villages of any evangelicals.  Several people had been beaten badly and some even killed in other parts of Chiapas.

Instead of taking this passively he and his church leaders asked for an audience with president Vicente Fox.  They were seen by representatives of Fox's government and officially recognized as a church in Mexico.  This guaranteed them religious freedom, and with this they went back to Chiapas and were able to end the violence against the members of their church.  They were able to rebuild their church buildings and move the Christians back into their homes in the villages where they had been run out.

Many people had suffered severley for their faith in Christ, but because of the faith and hard work of this one man, many were literally saved.
