Instituto de Liderazgo Integral Occidental

Take a moment to imagine that you are a pastor in a remote area of Guatemala known as Chichicastenango. In the mountains inhabited by Mayan Indians, most of who don't speak Spanish but local dialects, you long to bring the light of Jesus into their darkness. The only resource you have is an old Spanish New Testament that was handed down to you from another pastor.

With the little Spanish that you speak, you manage to learn as much as you can about the Bible. It's an uphill task. So, you, as most of the pastors around you, go on and preach the same message that you were taught. You know there is much more to be learned, but there is no one to teach you, no books to buy or read.

No one can imagine the joy that these pastors experience in finding out that there is now a place they can go to learn about the Bible. A place where they will be taught more than they ever imagined about all the wonderful riches waiting for them in God's Word.

This is the heartbeat of ILIO (the Regional Institute of Leadership). Over the last several years, ILIO has blessed hundreds of pastors and their churches. In the area of Quiche', there is no other ministry that provides a consistent, quality education for these pastors.

ILIO provides a quality Bible education to
leaders and pastors in rural communities throughout Central America. Located in the highlands of El Quiche, it is currently the only centralized, non-denominational training institute in the entire region.

Also, because ILIO is officially recognized by the government of Guatemala, their students receive diplomas and degrees that can help them in acquiring jobs and going on to further education in life.

The local pastors that attend ILIO many times cannot afford the very nominal fees involved. ILIO provides the financial support for many of their students for the tuition and books.

ILIO (and other ASELSI ministries) has been in great demand as the need for these ministries is desperately sought after in this area. All their funding comes independently from families and churches across the United States.

Your support and sponsorship could mean precious new opportunities for these local pastors, families and communities.
