Primary Clinic

Sharon Harvey runs a clinic in Chicastenango, El Quiche which serves people who would not otherwise be able to receive care and medicine. The clinic includes examinations, pre and post natal care, eye clinics, health education, a pharmacy stocked by donations from the States, and a Leche(milk) Progam. Our services include PAP smears and ultrasound exams, lab work, a mobile clinic bus reaching out to the villages, and a newborn assessment program.

The Leche Program provides milk, formula, cereal, and vitamins to undernourished children and pregnant nursing mothers. The heart of the program is the consistent attention, quick interventions for illnesses and on-going education that brings lifestyle changes. We continue to see high-risk infants and children, who may have died, gain weight and begin to thrive.

• Over 6200 patients seen in all areas of the clinic
• Over 200 babies and children are seen in the Milk Program each month
