John and Sharon Harvey - @ / $
Tony and Carrie Taylor - @ / $
In January of 1993, John and Sharon left the States in response to a childhood call when they each professed to the Lord, "Here I am, send me!" They traveled to Antigua, Guatemala and learned Spanish in a language school for six weeks. For the next three years, they worked with other missionaries in the country as the Lord prepared them to undertake the apostolic ministry of ASELSI. John started a Bible institute while Sharon began providing medical care to those in need. They believe the Lord actually began preparing them for this ministry over 27 years ago. John obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree in Religion and pastored for over 18 years, and Sharon, as an RN, directed a nursing center in Columbia, Missouri. John has since earned his Master’s of Theology. John and Sharon have been married for over 39 years. (Back to missionary list)
Bob was called to missions at the age of 6. He and Shawn both grew up in the Saginaw, Michigan area and were married in 1990. After attending Berean College, they spent 13 years in full-time youth ministry in Michigan. God opened the door for them to come to Guatemala in His perfect timing during the fall of 2003. This became a reality in the spring of 2004 as they and their three sons: Robert, II, Brenden & Cameron, moved to Chichicastenango. Another addition to the family is soon arriving with the adoption of 2 year-old Miriam. Bob now works with ASELSI and serves as the short-term missions team director, web administrator as well as playing the keyboard and leading worship for ILIO. Find out more about Bob and his family by checking out their website here. (Back to missionary list)

Tony and Carrie Taylor moved to Chichicastenango in February 2005 with their son Braegan to begin serving long-term with ASELSI. Tony's main work is teaching the Bible to church leaders in the rural villages as part of IBEX, our Bible Extension ministry. Carrie is helping with the Father's Heart clinic on Thursdays. Tony is from Clovis, New Mexico and Carrie from Lubbock, Texas. They are both graduates of Christ For the Nations Institute of Dallas, TX, and Tony is a graduate from the Missions Department of Abilene Christian University of Abilene, TX. Being able to work with ASELSI is a tremendous answer to their prayers as they have desired to train up native church leaders for many years. We welcomed the birth of their new son Trenden in February of 2007. (Back to missionary list)
