Carol Angelo
Carol Angelo is a Registered Nurse from Smithville, N.J. After receiving a degree as a Registered Nurse in 1971 she has worked in cardiac, intensive care, hospice, parish nursing, community health, health education, and bloodmobile nursing. Since the late 1970's she has felt a call to missionary work and has been on 10 short-term medical mission trips to Haiti, Romania, Mexico and Guatemala. She joined the staff of ASELSI in July 2010 after answering God's call for long-term missionary work. She works in the Father's Heart Clinic as a nurse/pharmacist serving the people of Chichicastenango and the surrounding area. She has also completed three months of intense Spanish language education in Xela.

BJ & Cindy Gormley
BJ and Cindy Gormley retired from their jobs in Pittsburgh PA and joined the ASELSI team in April 2011 following 6 months of Spanish study. BJ worked for the US Dept. of Energy for 35 years as a research Chemist. Cindy worked in nursing administration for 18 years, and recently spent 3 years working as an office administrator for an International Student Ministry. They sensed a call to missions many years ago, after taking the Perspectives on the World Christian Movement class. As a result, they have been active in their church's missions committee and served as Deacons. BJ taught children's Sunday School, Cindy served in Women's Ministry and mentored the MOPS (Mother's of Preschoolers) program for several years. After 4 short-term mission trips to Chichicastenango, they are excited to serve with the ASELSI team. BJ works with the special needs school children, Cindy helps with communication, and both use their gifts of hospitality and service to work wherever they are needed.
Cathy Hartle
Cathy Hartle, a Family Nurse Practitioner, joined ASELSI in January 2008. She received her Masters degree in nursing from the University of Missouri- Columbia. She has also attended Christian Spanish Academy in Antigua. Cathy was raised in a Christian home and at an early age received Christ as Savior and a call to missions. She is a daughter, sister, aunt, mother, and grandmother in a very large loving family. She is a full time practitioner in the clinic. Cathy is working in conjunction with Guatemalan Medical staff to bring health care to the under served population in the department of Quiche'. She is excited that God is using her to bring His healing and love to the people of this area.

Mike & Terri McComb
Mike and Terri have served as missionaries in Guatemala for 20 years. They live in Nebaj for 16 of these years among the Ixil people where they ministered in the areas of agricultural development, church planting, evangelism, medical outreach and leadership training. Mike now serves as the international director of the bible extension ministry of ASELSI. Terri continues to write and do outreach among the Ixil people. She has co-authored a book, Escaping the Fire, along with Tómas Guzaro. Guzaro is an Ixil Mayan pastor who led his people out of a holocaust during the Guatemalan civil war. Colleen McLaughlin
Colleen hails from Seaville, New Jersey and is a graduate of Philadelphia University of Bible and has been part of Greentree Church in Egg Harbor Township, NJ. Prior to moving to Guatemala she was very active in the youth ministry program at her church. After a number of short-term mission trips to ASELSI, Colleen has joined us full-time as the Short Term Team Coordinator. She will be in charge of planning and executing the groups that come to ASELSI to serve the people of Chichicastenago and the surrounding areas. She came in March 2009, completed 2 months of language school in Antigua, Guatemala and is now living near ASELSI in an adobe.

Jessica Gormley de Perez & Emanuel Perez
Emanuel Pérez has lived in Chichicastenango since he was eight years old. He started working at ASELSI in 2005. He has worked as an assistant to the Director of the International Bible School by Extension (IBEX), the Director of Physical Therapy, a teacher in the Bible School at ASELSI (ILIO), and as a team coordinator. He now serves as the Director of ASELSI. Jessica Gormley de Pérez came to Chichicastenango, Guatemala for the first time in the summer of 2005. She has lived in Chichicastenango, Guatemala since the fall of 2007, when she moved to Guatemala to teach missionary kids.
Jessica and Emanuel got married in August of 2009. Jessica served at ASELSI as the Director of Jesus' Little Lambs Center, a school for special needs children until 2013, when she became a full-time mom to Eman and Jess' first child.

Carlos & Emily Romero
Carlos is a minister born and raised in Southern Mexico. He is ordained with Christ for the Nations Institute in Dallas, Texas, with a Practical Theology Diploma. He has been serving God in full time ministry for 20 years in different areas, working with children, leading worship, teaching about the Bible in Spanish on the radio, serving as a mission's pastor doing short term missions in Canada, with the Indians in Mexico, the USA, Guatemala, and other countries in South America. His wife Emily is certified in bilingual elementary education and graduated from Dallas Baptist University in 1999. She cares for their three children, David, Jonathan and AnaLynne, works with the Milk Program families during clinic, is part of the ASELSI Worship Team, and translates materials for the ministry. They established a non-profit organization called Heart for the Nations to be able to accomplish the ministry God is calling them to do. Both Emily and Carlos are grateful to be on the mission field serving the people in the mountains of Guatemala through ASELSI.

Michael & Chrisi Shead
Michael and Chrisi Shead love people. Since they were kids they have had a heart for missions and the desire to introduce people to Jesus Christ. Chrisi is a registered nurse and Michael has served as a church staff member and now pastor for eight years. After years of ministry they are now stepping on to the mission field where they will be helping ASELSI provide Bible training, medical care, and team support to the people of Guatemala. In 2011 they were joined by their firstborn son, Hudson, and in January 2013 welcomed their daughter, Jubilee, both born in Guatemala City!

Ron & Sally Widbin
Since June of 2011 the hearts of Sally and Ron had been in Guatemala. Now the “rest of them” reside there as well. Ron first visited Guatemala with a mission's team from Central Missouri. After returning with Sally in February of 2012 the Widbins felt the calling of God to become full-time missionaries. Most of that “full-time” for Ron will be spent working in the communications department of ASELSI. Ron was a feature reporter for the ABC affiliate in Columbia, Missouri for 28 years and he will continue to tell stories for ASELSI. He will also work with teams from time to time. Sally was a schoolteacher for almost 30 years in Missouri, Illinois, and Michigan. She will be working in the Jesus’ Little Lambs Center, as well as working with teams and doing administrative work for ASELSI.
